Unfortunately, the employment insurance system which is mandatory for people who are eligible (if they want to apply for CRB), does not incentivize people going back to work. It actually takes away money for every dollar you earn while in the program. While this might have made sense pre covid, it definitely doesn't in our current situation. We need this program to AT LEAST be comparable to CRB, right? How do people expect us to seriously consider universal basic income when even the government's current policies set something like that up to fail... *BENEFIT SUMMARY* Who qualifies for CRB?: CRB is for people who are unemployed due to COVID, or have lost 50% + of their income.
