The Japanese brand divides its "safety shield" that surrounds the car, the Nissan Safety Shield 360 , into three levels: monitoring, response (reaction), and protection – and, in the new Kicks, this package is the most comprehensive available in the segment. Lane Departure Prevention Assist (LDP) : Keeps the car in the same lane when detecting another vehicle in the blind spot during a lane change. Forward Intelligent Brake Assist and Pedestrian Detection (P-FEB) : When a pedestrian, another vehicle or object is detected in front through sensors, the brake is automatically applied to avoid a collision. Rear Brake Assist (RAEB) : Works when reverse gear is engaged, which automatically brakes the car when detecting vehicles, people or objects. Intelligent Lane Centering Assist (LKA) : In conjunction with ProPILOT, the system keeps the new Kicks centered between lanes. Intelligent Curve Control (ATC) : The system monitors the position of the steering wheel, wheels, speed and lateral acceleration and acts on the brakes on each wheel to keep the car on the ideal curve. Intelligent Blind Spot Monitoring Intervention (I-BSI) : in the event of a voluntary lane change, the system directly intervenes in the steering if there is another vehicle in the blind spot. ProPILOT : ADAS technology that reduces driver stress when driving in various traffic conditions. The new Kicks is the first Nissan car in Brazil equipped with this technology, which represents the highest level of autonomous driving permitted in the country. The system focuses not only on accident prevention but also on driver comfort and convenience with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. VDC/ABS : Most advanced traction control system, which acts on any wheels that may have them. Inside, the model reflects the modernity of its exterior. One of the highlights of the cabin is the dashboard screen configuration: one for the instrument cluster (7 inches on the Sense and Advance versions; 12.3 inches on the Exclusive and Platinum) and another for the infotainment system. In the top-of-the-line versions, the combined screen area reaches 24.6 inches, creating a sophisticated, digital environment. Under the hood, the model features a 1.0-liter engine with direct injection and turbocharging, which develops 125 hp and 22.4 kgfm of torque when fueled with ethanol. This engine works in conjunction with an oil-immersed DCT dual-clutch transmission. It's operated by a push-button selector, the e-Shifter, a technology unprecedented in the segment. This easy-to-use system shifts gears with simple touches of the "D," "R," "N," and "P" buttons.
