This sets the company up to become a major fintech bank in 2026, including the potential to be added to the S&P 500. Next, we look at the student loan payment return, which could both hurt SoFi through increased delinquencies and benefit the company as more alumni refinance with the company. That will largely be a function of the Fed's interest rate decisions. Despite pressure from the US administration, Fed chairman Jerome Powell has elected not to lower interest rates, citing still high inflation. This also marks one of the first times there's been internal dissent in the Fed, with a possibility of a rate decrease closer to September. Tom Lee agrees with this assessment, saying we likely won't see lower rates until the CPI data decreases, and right now it's still rising. We saw Meta investing heavily in AI talent, but Google still remains my top AI stock pick.
