The day of passenger service agent Rachael Gardner's wedding to Ben, finally dawns on the tropical island of Mauritius. It looks like being the perfect day but turns out to be full of emotion. Her twin sister, Beverley, who was due to give her away, has had to stay in Liverpool to look after her boyfriend who's been admitted to intensive care. Now, 6000 miles away from home on the most important day of her life, Rachael has none of her own family to support her. Only her best friend, Caroline, and Ben's family will see her get married. Rachael tries to stay strong for her mother who couldn't be there, and for the sake of her father who died when she was nine. During the ceremony on the beach, however, it all becomes too much and Rachael breaks down in tears. .
