Piotr Kaszuwara explains Ukraine’s fight to defend Donbas

Ukrainian special forces were flown into Pokrovsk because the situation there is deteriorating. According to Piotr Kaszuwara from the UA Future Foundation, Russian troops have moved into nearby towns and have hundreds of soldiers inside Pokorovsk. Unlike the large-scale tank battles that occurred earlier in the war, the fighting now consists mostly of drones, small teams, and soldiers hiding in dug-out spots. Russia keeps sending drones to knock out the internet and destroy roads, forcing Ukrainian troops to retreat because they can’t fly their own drones without a signal. Humanitarian groups can barely approach the city anymore because drones attack far beyond the front lines.
