"Little tyrant' of US": Trump effigy star of Guatemala's traditional 'Burning of the devil' ceremony

U.S. President Donald Trump was selected as the character to be burned with the devil in Guatemala on Sunday as part of the annual tradition to put all bad things behind them before Christmas. Artisans in the capital city sold paper effigies to families who partook in the colonial-era tradition of the Burning of the Devil, which observes the Immaculate Conception. In recent years, the celebration has also become a stage for political protest. This year, Donald Trump was chosen to join the giant devil for his immigration policies against Latin American citizens. "There is always a character who attracts all the attention and comments," an organizer of the devil-burning ceremony said. "This year it happened to a figure already plagued with so much controversy, not only in this country but around the world, namely the 'little tyrant' of the United States, who has done a lot of harm to our Latin people and especially to our Guatemalan brothers."
