Think your studio is too small for creative fashion photography? Think again! In this video, I’ll show you how to create two dramatically different fashion looks (one sculpted and dramatic, one soft and even), all in a small shooting space! The fashion looks here are both created in an extra office space with dimensions of 9ft (wide) x 14ft (deep) with a height of under 8ft. To get us started, here are some key considerations when shooting in small spaces (discussed in this video): • Consider smaller, more controlled modifiers like grids, beauty dishes, and optical spots. Avoid large modifiers like large umbrellas or 5ft Octa. • For soft light, bounce light off white walls or ceilings • Try hiding background lights behind your subject to save space on the side. • Take advantage of hallways or doorways to step back and compress your frame, or to hide lights when applicable.
