Name: Dana Location: Brooklyn NY Size: 700 Sq Ft Type of Home: 1 Bedroom Apartment Years Lived In: Renting, 1.5 years We loved touring Dana’s apartment, seeing retro patterns and textures in every angle, her hilarious personality and camera-ready dog, Billie. Her place caught our eye when she submitted photos for the 2023 Small/Cool contest, specifically referring to her space as “raccoon chic.” Not as far gone as you’d imagine, but there’s some truth to it; Dana and her fiancé, Lucas, have managed to furnish their home almost entirely with second-hand vintage furniture. They’ve mindfully pulled from several different eras and styles so the result is balanced and not theatrical. Dana has a great eye for unique pieces, and is constantly mixing function with humor. And to organize the “chaos,” she’s favored a triad color scheme of Pink, Orange and Green. This allows their home to be colorful but not overwhelming.
