About

I got interested in website tools after I launched my own — and failed. In 2012, I launched a website builder but soon realized the market was already crowded with competitors. Rather than adding yet-another website builder, I saw a need to help people navigate the existing website builders and find the best ones. That insight led me to create Site Builder Report in 2013, where I began reviewing website builders. In 2017, I added a YouTube channel called Steve Builds Websites. And while I still continue to write at Site Builder Report, my real passion has shifted towards creating videos for Steve Builds Websites.

Video Description

Squarespace — https://squarespace.syuh.net/Pyer9z Shopify — https://shopify.pxf.io/rQ9z3Q I currently have multiple websites on both Squarespace and Shopify. And here's the thing: both Squarespace and Shopify are excellent website builders BUT they have MAJOR differences. This video is a deep dive on those differences. We go through ease of use, ecommerce, templates, pricing and more. The most important thing to understand is that Squarespace is a tool for building all kinds of websites. It's for bloggers, businesses, authors, teachers, lawyers and more. Shopify on the other hand is just for online stores. Personally I use Squarespace for any small website that I'm building. For example, I use it to build my Mom's small business website and my music website. I do occasionally use Squarespace for small ecommerce stores. For example, I sell a vinyl record on my music website because I don't really sell that many vinyl records so it totally works. I use Shopify whenever I have an online store that sells a product more than once a week. Shopify just makes it much easier. 00:00 Introduction 01:32 Ease of Use 05:19 Ecommerce 08:56 Templates 10:34 Pricing 11:20 Key Takeaways
