In this episode of NTSL, after a decade without rent a landlord in Sudbury tackles her difficult tenant. Her and her husband saw the chance to make some money and help someone in need, instead they were left with an astronomical debt. Council employees are always on the lookout for illegal or dangerous rented houses of multiple occupancy (HMO). In Harrow, enforcement officer Andrew has got wind of a man who has apparently packed his unlicensed home full of tenants, despite also still living there himself. Aswell as being overcrowded, reports suggest the flat is in a serious state of disrepair. A stressed landlord is on route to evict his tenant from his 3-bed semi in Milton Keynes. Since moving in the young mum failed to transfer her deposit and hasn’t paid any rent. Meeting him at the property is eviction specialist Paul Shamplina, and high court sheriffs, to assist with the case. Landlords usually carry out detailed background checks when finding someone to live in their home, but that’s not always possible, as Ryan found out to his cost when renting out his Leigh-on-Sea flat.
