After a week of searching for the heart of Texas, we finally found it. In this episode, Shaun (The Story Till Now) and I leave the Gulf Coast behind and head west toward the rugged terrain of Big Bend. From finding "off-world" artifacts in the sand to trading our rigs for real horsepower at an abandoned mercury mine, the trip finally hits its stride. But the desert doesn't let us through easily—between mystery check engine lights, unmaintained trails that push the limits of a full-size RAM and a Gladiator, and a survival challenge that didn't go as planned, this was the highlight of the trip so far.
