I am 77 with no health or financial problems. I do agree with much of what you said. For me this is the most enjoyable part of life and part of it is: continuing to be active : maintaining a time schedule, continuing planning and working on projects and goals (other words: Work), vigorous and daily exercise, sleep, avoiding alcohol, cooking your own healthy food, annual medical checkups, maintaining independence ( cooking, cleaning), make social contact in your activities ( it could be the grocery clerk or the Postman), expressing happiness and kindness to others (listen to other's problems and difficulties; bring a smile to their face) and demonstrate by example to others that life can be wonderful at all ages. To bring joy to others just might be your greatest joy. (99% of people I listen to express chronic loneliness, yet there is also great joy in being alone. It presents a time in your life to know yourself and explore the spiritual part of life). ............ And yes, death may come tomorrow, and this possibility requires we make plans.
