And one man in particular who’s in the trenches and at the center of these efforts is Rob Banghart. The Las Vegas tunnels run all the way to Lake Mead, and in total, there’s more than 600 miles of tunnels that run under Las Vegas. While their main purpose is for flood control, at one point allegedly they were used as mafia escape routes from different casinos, and now more than a thousand people call them home. Recently, The city’s trying to clear all these up to look good for major events like the Super Bowl, F1, and a potential new Major League Baseball team, but if you search deep enough you’ll come across many people still living down here.
