This session focuses on the Devil Dogs of K Company—part of the storied 1st Marine Division—who landed at Guadalcanal in August of 1942 and Marine Eugene B. Sledge who penned the classic memoir of his experiences with the battles of Peleliu and Okinawa, With the Old Breed. Panelists will offer their views on the legacy of Eugene Sledge and the Devil Dogs.
