Video Description

May 1945. In the final months of World War 2, the Imperial Japanese Navy sent the heavy cruiser Haguro on a desperate supply mission to the Andaman Islands. But the Royal Navy was waiting. Acting on decoded intelligence, British destroyers of the 26th Destroyer Flotilla, led by HMS Saumarez, set a deadly night-time trap in the Malacca Strait. What followed was a tightly coordinated radar-guided ambush, one of the last surface engagements of the war.
