A complete breakdown in aircraft operation, maintenance and workplace culture compounded against pilot error leading to this devastating disaster which killed 159 people when this passenger plane crashed into residential housing just minutes away from landing at Lagos Airport in Nigeria. When I originally began reading up on this horrifying accident, I didn’t really know what to expect. I certainly wasn’t expecting to uncover the inner workings of an airline teetering on the edge of what is considered to be acceptable airworthiness.
