At the time this video was uploaded, we are very well informed that it is possible for SSDs won’t DIE even after the TBW limit has been reached. But if you bring the worn-out SSDs to your SSD manufacturers to claim the warranty (let’s say 970 EVO), Samsung will simply reject your request because it’s beyond the TBW limit. 2. Considering that the worn-out SSDs will start to behave erratically, or sometimes funny – we’d like to call it dead. And this is why soldered SSD is a really bad idea, but maybe this is all Apple’s sneaky way to let people buy a new one. 3. The TBW value is highly dependent on the SSD’s Brand, Size, and Type of SSD(VNAND, 3DNAND, SLC, QLC, MLC etc). So, it’s not okay to generalize all SSDs are having the same TBW value. Most importantly, the type of PCIe NVMe SSDs Apple using are still unknown, maybe monolithic NVMe SSDs or something else. We will tell you when we find out more.
