Four years ago, I reviewed Moondrop's flagship DD IEM, the Illumination. And at the time... I didn't get it. It didn't sound bad per se, but it didn't sound obviously better than Moondrop's much more affordable options like Starfield and Aria. Now Moondrop has a follow-up to the Illumination, which is the new Illustrious. The formula here is very simple, but one thing is definitely different: Now I get this IEM's unique selling point.
