Before I could even step into the mine, I had to become an official 'miner' in the eyes of the law, then I drilled, blasted, and mucked for a day, to see how much gold we could pull out! I really enjoyed this experience because it allowed me to better understand the lives of the miners who built the town that I live in, Cerro Gordo.
