We get a lot of suggestions of places to visit in an outside of The Netherlands, but recently someone told us NOT to visit Tilburg.... so, of course, we immediatly planned a trip. It's a little over an hour or so to drive to Tilburg from Amsterdam, and we are really glad we made the trip. Tilburg has far more "modern" buildings than many cities around The Netherlands, but we found some really nice areas in the city center during our trip. We had lunch in a decomissioned train car, visited the award winning Lochal building, toured the Textile Museum, and climbed a very interesting tower, all in a few hours around Tilburg.
