Best Answer. Welcome to another educational HR video on how to pass a job interview. Sometimes we leave a job. Sometimes we are laid off. Sometimes we are fired. How should we explain to an interviewer (whether they are a recruiter or hiring manager), and how MUCH should we explain. Well, it depends on whether it is a first-round interview or a later-round interview. What we say also depends on whether we were laid off, left/resigned, or were fired. I give broad guidelines and example answers in all of these situations, as well as several principles that are at play. Knowing these can help to frame your answer.
