Why I Regret Attending A Mormon University

Brigham Young University is often called “The Lord’s University,” but behind the cheap tuition and “prestige” is a web of religious control. From mandatory religion classes to the infamous Honor Code (yes, you can get tattled on for drinking coffee or being gay), BYU functions more like an extension of church camp than a place for growth. Today I’m sharing my own experience as an ExMormon student, including the fear of losing my degree if I stopped attending church before graduation. This video also dives into viral TikTok interviews, the essays I wrote about The Book of Mormon, and why so many disaffected believers stay silent while attending.
