It has been a long time since I last produced a members-only program, but I, Lao Du, have continued to keep in private contact with many of our members. From these conversations, I sense that the question most on everyone’s mind is this: has Xi Jinping really lost power? Will he step down at the Fourth Plenary Session? At present, many overseas Chinese-language media outlets circulate a rather strange line of reasoning: because some of Xi Jinping’s close associates have been purged, they conclude that Xi has lost power, that he has been sidelined, and that at the Fourth Plenary Session he will step down, and so forth. The speakers present this with great confidence, and the listeners believe it without doubt. First, let me tell all our members one plain truth: according to several of my contacts within the system, these claims are sheer nonsense. In past programs, I have already revealed certain relatively confidential pieces of information from within the CCP. But today, let us set aside such specifics and instead talk about logic. I have always believed that the most effective tools for exposing lies—apart from facts—are reason and logic. On this basis, I want to discuss with you today: are these so-called “signs of Xi’s loss of power” truly real? Let us begin with the facts and use common sense to dismantle the logical flaws within them.
