The first began in a small town, carrying dreams into Beijing — stumbling forward, bruised and worn down. In those years, he stood at the edges: in the shadows beside the spotlight, never quite at its center. He interviewed, hosted, acted, took on every odd job he could find, trying desperately to move closer to the stage. Then, one day — without a clear dividing line — the second Da Peng realized he had stepped into the light. And strangely, many people felt they were meeting him for the first time, forgetting that they had already crossed paths before. Today, whether as a director or an actor, Da Peng delivers work defined by both consistency and quality. More than once, he has stood just half a step away from the highest honors in the industry. And yet, he never allows himself to relax. He keeps thinking about the first Da Peng. He feels things could have been done better. Inside him live endless regret, unease, and ambitions that rise alongside anxiety.
