About

We're Isis and Bertus, a Belgian-Dutch couple who are exchanging the concrete of the suburbs for the peace of nature. After fifteen years of dreaming and gradually working towards making this possible, we stand at the beginning of a new chapter. Our path has led us to a dilapidated farmstead nestled in the rolling hills of the breathtaking Langhe area in Piemonte, Italy. We invite you to join us on our journey of intentionally and lovingly restoring this beautiful 200-year old farmstead. We can't wait to breathe new life into this house and its surrounding land and to learn from the challenges ahead of us.

Video Description

A week of storm warnings—but the worst of it passed us by. In the quieter stretches, we planted strawberries and rootstock, harvested our first salad, and kept chipping away at long-standing projects: finishing the hole left behind after we took out a chimney breast, peeling back layers of old paint and plaster, and building the workbench for the table saw. We also started contemplating paint colours for the façade, between the rain showers and the soft light of spring. Anemone, verbena, and echinops rootstock from Bulbi.nl — use code CASCINA10 for 10% off. We're Isis & Bertus, a Belgian-Dutch couple. In the summer of 2023 we moved into a neglected farmhouse in a tiny village in the northwest of Italy. The last inhabitants left some 15 years ago, but large parts of the property have been empty for well over 20 years. Thank you for joining us on our adventure!
