Israeli airstrikes in Beirut's southern suburb overnight Tuesday destroyed several buildings. Over the past week, Israeli airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburb known as Dahiyeh killed at least 18 people, including the leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah group Hassan Nasrallah and several other senior officials. Israeli strikes in recent weeks have hit what the military says are thousands of militant targets across large parts of Lebanon. But the strikes have also hit buildings where civilians were living and the death toll was expected to rise. The attacks have killed over 1,000 people in Lebanon over the past two weeks, nearly a quarter of them women and children, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry. More than 5,000 others were injured. The airstrikes have forced more than 118,000 people to flee their homes in Lebanon since Sept. 23, mostly in the south, according to the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. AP video shot by Fadi Tawil and Mohamad Anouti
