Seine Karriere als Comedian begann 2003 und nur ein Jahr später gewann er die österreichische Casting Show ComedyStar auf ATV. Besonders sein Stimmentalent, welches er nutzt um Sportler zu parodieren, kommt bei den Zuschauern sehr gut an. Bei der Sendung "Verstehen Sie Spaß" parodierte er die Stimmen von Franz Beckenbauer, Niki Lauda, Andreas Herzog und Toni Polster. Sein erstes Solo-Kabarettprogramm "Jetlag für Anfänger" gelang ihm 2014, welches auch beim Wiener Kabarettfestival und im Rahmen des ORF-Sommerkabaretts zu sehen war. Sein aktuellstes Programm "50 Shades of Schmäh", welches im Oktober 2022 erschien, feierte die Premiere im Orpheum Wien. Zu den von Kristan parodierten Stimmen zählen neben Heinz Prüller, Niki Lauda, Franz Beckenbauer, Andreas Herzog und Toni Polster auch die Stimmen von Herbert Prohaska, Frenkie Schinkels, Jogi Löw und Arnold Schwarzenegger.
