If you are interested in history, archeology and in how does underwater world look like, what can be discovered there and what are the challenges of archeological underwater world, take a scrap of it and watch this video. The most famous Croatian underwater archeologist, Irena Radić Rossi, is taking us to marvelous historic journey under the sea. Irena is the Co-Founder of the Research Center, collaborates and mentor students from all over the world and publishes articles on a regular basis. She is an associate researcher at the French Center Camille and the international organization Institute of Nautical Archeology. If there wasn’t people like her, underwater world would be left undiscovered and stories would never be told. She brought us stories about shipwreck of Gnalić and shipwreck of Žirje, and what have been discovered. Thanks to her, Croatia has been placed on the map of the archeological world. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx Irena Radić Rossi rođena je u Zagrebu, 7. listopada 1964. godine, gdje je stekla osnovno i srednjoškolsko obrazovanje. Godine 1983. upisala je studij arheologije na Filozofskom fakultetu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Tijekom studija aktivno je sudjelovala u terenskim istraživanjima širom Hrvatske. Prvu ronilačku kategoriju stekla je 1986. godine, čime joj je omogućeno i sudjelovanje i u podmorskim arheološkim istraživanjima. Za diplomski rad pod nazivom Kompjutorska obrada latinskih natpisa (mentor: Marina Šarić-Šegvić) nagrađena je Prvomajskom nagradom rektora Sveučilišta. Godine 1988. zaposlila se u Odjelu za arheologiju Republičkog zavoda za zaštitu spomenika kulture, na poslovima podvodne arheologije. Spomenuti Odjel postao je 1990. godine sastavnim dijelom Ministarstva prosvjete i kulture RH; od 1994. nalazio se u Državnoj upravi za zaštitu kulturne i prirodne baštine; od 1997. postao je sastavnim dijelom Ministarstva kulture RH, a od 2004.
