Dropping a Cummins 6BT into a Franna crane won’t be a straight bolt-in — in this video we’ll show what needs to change to make it work. We’ll flip the oil sump to clear the drive shaft, which means we’ll also move and shorten the oil pick up with some TIG welding, and relocate the dipstick. We’ll fix the infamous killer dowel pin before it can wreck the motor and use a part we salvaged from the injector pump out of the old Perkins engine that came out of the crane. On top of that, we’ll replace the timing cover studs for the aftermarket air compressor and take care of anything else that needs attention along the way.
