It’s time to tackle the hydraulic gear pump from the Franna but it fights us every step of the way! Since we’ve swapped in a new Cummins 6BT engine, we need to adapt the pump coupling — but the original style is no longer available. That means removing the old seized coupling and rebuilding the pump. What sounds simple quickly turns into a battle with stripped bolt heads, welded nuts, broken hex bits, and a whole lot of stubborn fasteners. With some heat, arm strength, creative thinking and a trip to the milling machine, Kurtis eventually wins the fight 💪 But just when we think we’re in the clear, there’s a bigger problem — this pump has been discontinued, and seal kits are no longer available.
