The mind needs to develop discipline first by not overindulging in the world's illusions. I've been more confident since I stop overeating comfort food. Learning how to stop comfort eating was step number 1, I had to learn how to control what I eat so I could stop falling into depression and overeating. Getting to the root of your emotional breakdowns is a good place to start. Unearthing your beliefs about your limitations help you see what you do besides comfort eating. That's not always possible so if you know your going to be comfort eating, then eat a salad or a piece of fruit. Eat something that will nourish your body instead of breaking it down. Junk food makes you depressed and anxious. If you have problems losing weight, it can be because your too stressed and your body is holding onto fat, it's even more reason to stay away from comfort eating! It's very possible to manage depression without medication if you cultivate self discipline. Comfort eating is just a mental distraction, learn how to detach yourself from comfort eating by staying true to yourself and knowing you're worth the effort. Despite eating healthy and working out you can still have problems with depression weight loss because of stress. I was constantly overeating and comfort eating. Whenever I felt unsafe or off balance I would find something to snack on. I would overeat very often and used food to distract me from reaching my goals. Eating was my temporary escape from anxiety because I could feel happiness and complete satisfaction without a lot of effort.I couldn't pick myself up from my depression and move forward with my life so I ate knowing I wasn't hungry. After simplifying my routine, I can manage my weight and my emotions a lot better without medication.
