I was a sketchbook skeptic - I just didn’t get them. Inspired by artists Amanda Close I pulled out a pile of old sketchbooks, recorded a tour, and soon found myself beginning a regular sketchbook practice. I’m actually three weeks in (I never last three weeks.) An email from artist Helen Wells offered a free sketchbook class. Seemed timely so I signed up. In this video, I create three two-page spreads in an old sketchbook using a vintage teapot as my muse. Working with acrylic paint, inks, and paint pens, I played until I finally *got it*.
