It’s June 4, 2019, in Springfield, Massachusetts. A group of gangsters have convened to meet at the Mount Carmel Social club, a Mafia operated society in the area that was once the operating hub of infamous Mafia members in the past, including Al Bruno, the Springfield Mafia boss, who was murdered by his own men in 2004. But today it’s not Mafia members meeting at the club. It’s senior leaders of the East Coast Latin Kings, a vast criminal network of drug dealers operating from Massachusetts all the way south to Florida. Present at the club is Michael Cecchetelli aka “The Man.” All are members of several Massachusetts Latin Kings gangs, and all are meeting that day to decide the fate of the son of a gang member. Cecchetelli, in particular, caught the feds' eyes at that meeting. He wasn't just a captain within the Latin Kings, as were the men around him. He was the leader of the entire east-coast Latin Kings enterprise, and a published occult magician. Cecchetelli was a mafia-connected Italian american who had an open and proud history within the gang as a Springfield dealer and kingpin. The man they were discussing that morning, referred to as Victim 25 in court documents, was a high-ranking member of the Lowell Latin Kings, in Lowell Massachusetts, and his son, Victim 13, had openly insulted the gang online. Alfred Nieves, aka “King Alfy” was the leader of the Lowell branch, and had been on call recently with a confidential informant telling him he planned on killing Victim 13, but police were one step ahead of him. Police listened in on Cecchetelli that day at the Mount Carmel club as he came to the decision that, due to Victim 25’s status within the gang, no one could go out explicitly looking for Victim 13, but if they happened to randomly run into him, they could take care of him, quote “If a brother bumps into him on the street, we can’t tell that brother to stand down.” But Victim 13 would never get shot over the matter. Just months after that infamous meeting was held, police in Massachusetts would strike down on the Latin Kings, and expose a hierarchy of gang killers, enforcers, and leaders who all conspired to run trap houses across the state. The Kings ranged from young crack cooks living in drug dens to an elderly school teacher who shot his own student over 10 dollars, and Cecchetelli was at the center of it all.
