From Stables to Stunning: Our Favorite Transformation Yet! | My Tiny Estate

Among the many buildings on the Main Estate, the Stables hold a special place in our hearts. What normally would have taken a few years to renovate, we managed to squeeze into six months, and it nearly killed us in the process but we couldn’t be prouder of the results. We began with a very lackluster exterior and with some significant elbow grease, restored it to its former glory. Inside, we repurposed an old tack room into a cozy office, converted the carriage house into a versatile workshop and party room and the haylofts upstairs have been reimagined into a full apartment, featuring a library, bedroom, bathroom with walk-in closet, kitchen, and sitting area. We restored the original stables because – after all – you can't call it 'The Stables' without a place for a donkey or horse, right? Throughout the renovation, we honored the building's textures and colors, carefully balancing rustic elements with contemporary design. We upcycled materials wherever possible – creating 3-meter-high doors out of old pine boards, repurposing a dresser into bathroom cupboards, and transforming a ladder into a towel rack.
