Use your own discretion when deciding to eat raw fish. Salmon sashimi is sought after by millions of people around the world who enjoy the fresh flavor and buttery texture. Farmed Atlantic salmon is especially suited for this application because, through a controlled and managed aquaculture operation, they are able to provide a fish that is potentially free of dangerous parasite or bacteria, and which yields a superb quality of taste and texture. As far as I know, Costco sources their fish from salmon farms in Norway under very strict supervision and requirements. I have found their salmon to be excellent for making sashimi, sushi, poke and cooked salmon dishes. I have no affiliation with Costco. I am making this video, because I like using their Salmon. Sashimi Safety: - Farmed salmon is safer than wild salmon, because wild salmon is much more likely to have parasites and bacteria. It is not recommended to eat raw wild salmon. - Always inspect salmon visually for signs of parasites before eating raw. - Always cure salmon before eating raw. - Always smell salmon to ensure that it smells clean and fresh before eating raw. - You may freeze salmon at -20c (-4F) degrees for 7 days, or -35C (-31F) degrees for 24 hours in order to kill any potential parasites.
