Our English kitchen has been a dream come true – a handmade Shaker Kitchen by deVOL that we’ve now lived with for almost a year. But one thing was still missing: the tiles. After months of searching, we travelled to Cornwall to visit Decorum Tiles, a small studio where every tile is hand-painted to order. There, we decided on traditional Delft tiles with a blue border, complemented by countryside motifs from their range – and just a handful of bespoke designs that are especially meaningful to us. The tiles are now being made, a process that takes several weeks. In this video, we share the journey: from exploring designs and colours, to watching the artists at work, to choosing the details that will soon make our kitchen feel even more English.
