***Based on viewer feedback, a 'No Music Cut' is available of this video. If watching on headphones, you may want to go here instead: https://youtu.be/L49Wb31TvOM *** I bought a pallet of 10 "dead" 1st Generation EcoFlow River Pro portable power stations for a ridiculously cheap price. The seller said they don't work, but I have a theory about a known firmware defect that might just be the key to bringing them back to life. Living in Florida, hurricane season is no joke. After losing power for over 24 hours—twice—last year and dealing with the chaos of sold-out generators and gas shortages, I knew I needed a reliable backup power solution. Could this risky purchase be the key to keeping my family safe and my refrigerator running during the next big storm?. Join me for Part 1 of this series as we dive deep into the humble 18650 battery, the workhorse of the power revolution. We'll tear down one of these EcoFlow units, expose the 60 lithium-ion cells inside , and get a close look at the Battery Management System (BMS) that controls them. The plan is to safely pre-charge the cells with a very low, controlled current to wake up the BMS and hopefully restore these units to their former glory. Will we find healthy cells, or are these just expensive bricks? Let's find out!
