Kahoot 2019 is a game base quiz activity that you can do in class with your students. It is one of the most popular technologies that teachers are using in the classroom and many times when I observe lessons, teachers are working with Kahoot. I'm going to teach you how to create an account in Kahoot, how to create a Kahoot and then I'm going to show you how to test your code. So this really is a complete Kahoot training course 101. We're going to focus on the Kahoot free version. This does not look at the paid version of Kahoot. 00:00 Free account Kahoot-Introduction 01:05 Creating Kahoot 06:40 Save and publish 08:45 Preview the quiz 12:24 The game from student's point of view 15:20 Feedback 16:50 Reports 18:50 Share your Kahoot 20:53 Thanks for watching One of the things that I'm going to do in this video is look at both the teacher view and the student view. Some teachers get confused when they work with Kahoot 2019 because they don't understand how the teacher uses Kahoot and how the students use Kahoot. So in this video will focus on both the student view and the teacher view when using Kahoot. It is an ideal classroom based technology that is great as a warmer activity or very useful for formative assessment. Kahoot has got some really interesting game-based learning features For example you can get points depending on how quickly you answer the questions. As the teacher you can also control how long the students get to answer the question. At the end of each question kahoot always shows you who the top students are in a league table. There is even a commentary on who is improving and catching up and slowly making their way up the table. I like some of the settings in Kahoot. For example it is possible to limit the time students have to answer the questions. So at the Beginning maybe you give the students 20 seconds to answer the question but towards the end you only give them 10 seconds. Generally when I work with Kahoot, I like working with the multiple choice game based activities and I always get my students to work in pairs or groups. I never get my students to work alone. It makes the activity much more collaborative. It adds a game element to their learning and it also means that the students share ideas. You only need for students to have one device. I would encourage your students to work in twos or threes and only work with one device. Another really important it is ask each group to give themselves a name and then they can login as a single user with their group name If you use the group based setting, it means that students will take a long time to log in because they all have to enter your their names. so try to avoid this when setting up your Kahoot I really hope you like these videos and that they help you to work with codes my name is Russell Stannard and I run teachertrainingvideos.com and I'm a previous winner of the British Council Elton's technology award and the Times Higher Outstanding Initiative in ICT award. 1) How to log in to the FREE account 2) How to CREATE a Kahoot 3) How to TEST a Kahoot 4) How to EDIT a Kahoot 5) How to PLAY a Kahoot 6) How to share a Kahoot This is an ideal video tutorial for any teacher who is looking to really understand how Kahoot works and what both the teacher and the student will see.
