The latest in the Q series, the Leica Q3 now features a 60 megapixel, tri-resolution, back-side illuminated CMOS sensor. For the first time in a Leica camera we now have phase detection autofocus. We also have dedicated USB-C ports for charging and data transfer as well as a micro HDMI output for video. The Q3 will shoot up to 8k 30p video in 8 bit 4:2:0 internal or 10 bit 4:2:2 external, 4k 60p 4:2:2 10 bit internal or 1080 120p 4:2:2 internal. Oh, and there’s no audio input. But we do have an upgraded EVF at 5.7 million dots and an upgraded, tillable 3” touch screen. The Leica Q3 is possibly the most anticipated (and most leaked) camera of the year. With an amazing 28mm f/1.7 Summilux lens that is specifically designed for this camera - you can get impressive image quality. The lens features a leaf shutter for high speed flash sync. It also features optical image stabilization, autofocus and a macro switch for extreme close up photography. There is no other fixed lens camera in this class.
