Moving in at last!

After so long renovating this barn into an art studio, I was finally able to move my things in and start setting up! I started moving my stuff from storage into the art studio this week, even though it kept raining! I was amazed how much stuff I actually had, but there is plenty of space in the studio so I should be able to find a place for all of it. I brought in all my materials and tools, things like my loom and sewing machine, as well as sketchbooks and old artworks. I realised that I had been so focused on finishing the building renovation that I hadn't even thought about furniture that I would need, so I hunted around the other barns on the farm and found some things to use. It used to be a dairy farm, and there were a few unusual antique items from farming times that I cleaned up to use in the studio. I thought these galvanised metal items had an interesting look and echoed the story of the building and its original use. Blackcurrants are ripe so I picked some, they are too tart to eat raw, so I canned them with some sugar. I also baked a chocolate ganache tart for some guests, it was an experimental recipe and while it was good, I think I can make it even better next time! I'm now moved in and ready to start working in the art studio, and this feels really exciting, but also a bit daunting!
