This is Part 1 of 3 of our Nova Scotia road trip with the dads! We love going on trips with our families and it's something that we try to make time for as often as we can. This trip came about after Samuel and I visited Nova Scotia on our own back in 2021. Our dads watched those videos and thought the province looked amazing, so the following summer, we planned a trip back! We spent the first 4 days of our family trip in Halifax and used it as a base for exploring the city and venturing out to Peggy's Cove and Polly's Cove. I should also mention that the Dads like history, good food and wine, so those will be predominant themes. In this video, we'll visit the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, HMCS Sackville, and the Mont-Blanc Anchor Site, just to name a few. Audrey's Dad up at 4 AM chasing the dog, then hops a flight—finally reunited with the “Vancouver Island Gang” (Sam, Audrey, George). Quick one-night lakeside house outside downtown in Lower Sackville: stunning sunrise view, perfect prep for Day 2. 3️⃣ Halifax Harbour Cable Ferry “Best five minutes” ever: breezy cable ferry across Halifax Harbour, dodging cruise-ship traffic. 4️⃣ Pier 21 Canadian Immigration Museum Million newcomers & 400 000 WWII personnel passed through these doors. Emotional “faces of the new arrivals” gallery & $7 trans-Canada family travel factoid. 5️⃣ Maritime Museum of the Atlantic Titanic exhibit, warships, artifacts & the story of the Halifax Explosion.
