Description

I was completely shook by how untouched parts of this magical forest are. We explored for a couple of hours and could have stayed even longer! It's also a filming location for lots of movies and TV shows, including a Game of Thrones filming area. Where to visit in Tollymoore forest: 👉 The Shimna River Trail - The park’s signature walk with bridges, rapids, and constant photo spots. 👉 The Stepping Stones - The classic Instagram shot where you cross the river on stone blocks. 👉 Foley’s Bridge - A carved 18th-century stone bridge framed by forest that everyone stops to photograph. 👉 The Hermitage - A tucked-away stone lookout built into the gorge over the river. 👉 The Arboretum - Ancient and exotic trees, including massive sequoias and cork oak. 👉 Cedar Avenue - A long, moody avenue lined with towering cedar trees. Game of Thrones Filming Site (Direwolf Pups) - The exact riverside spot where the Stark kids find the pups. 👉 The White Fort - A historic ancient earthwork hidden off the main trail. 👉 The Mountain & Drinns Trail - The best longer loop with deeper forest and Mourne Mountain views. 👉 The Cascades - A small but dramatic waterfall series along the Shimna River. It really looks like a forest made for fairies with castles, rivers and enchanting trees all over the place! Would you come here? 👉 Tollymoore Forest, Northern Ireland
