Video Description

In this video i alter a shaft for a combine header and repair a leg bracket for a McConnel discaerator cultivator. The shaft for the combine was too long. I had to cut it down to the right length then put it in the lathe to cut a new thread. The thread measured 27mm and had a 1.5mm pitch. Once i had got the thread cut i welded the end on making sure i got the 2 notches for the pinch bolt lined up. Second job, the McConnel bracket, i decided it would be best to cut off the end, cut out a new one and weld it on rather than trying to reweld the old bit up. I took a photo of the part before i cut it off to use to trace around on onshape. I cut the new end out on the cnc plasma then used the hand plasma to cut off the old end and to put a weld bevel on. After welding on i drilled out a bit of round bar for the pivot, welded that in then put on the mill to drill and ream to final size. Hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching.
