Video Description

Are sweet potato fries the ultimate American fry? 🇺🇸🍠 The U.S. isn’t just the world’s top exporter of sweet potatoes — they’ve made them a true icon of American cuisine! Big thanks to DelicioUS! Food USA for sending over some of the finest sweet potatoes America has to offer. I used them to create a recipe for crunchy, flavor-packed sweet potato fries — and yep, no deep frying required! Ingredients • 1 large sweet potato • 1 tbsp salt (for blanching) • 30 g cornstarch • ¼ tsp baking powder • ½ tsp salt • Neutral cooking oil • Pinch of MSG (optional) • ¼ tsp garlic powder • ¼ tsp smoked paprika Instructions 1. Prep the fries: Peel and trim the sweet potato. Cut into even fries, ~1x1 cm thick. 2. Blanch: Boil water with 1 tbsp salt. Blanch fries for 2 minutes. Drain. 3. Coat: In a container, mix cornstarch, baking powder, and ½ tsp salt. Add fries, close lid, and gently shake to coat. 4. Oil & arrange: Dip each fry in oil to coat. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced apart. 5. Bake: Preheat oven at 220°C and bake for 20 minutes. Flip all fries. 6. Finish baking: Lower heat to 190°C. Bake 15–30 more minutes until tips are very dark or slightly charred. 7. Season: Transfer to a paper towel-lined bowl, toss to absorb excess oil. Add MSG, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Toss again. 📘 My Cook Book KITCHEN PASSPORT https://bit.ly/kitchenpassport 🛠️ My Kitchen Tools https://bit.ly/kitchenpassport-tools 📸 Follow me on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/mynameisandong
