The 100 Mile Wilderness is one of the most remote and storied sections of the Appalachian Trail - a place defined as much by restraint as by ambition. In this short film, I attempt a fastest known time (FKT) on the 100 Mile Wilderness, running from Monson to Abol Bridge through some of the most rugged and unforgiving terrain in the northeastern United States. This isn’t just a film about speed, though. It’s about returning to a trail that shaped me - revisiting the places, people, and rhythms that first pulled me toward ultra-trail running. Along the way, we explore the history of the 100 Mile Wilderness, the culture surrounding FKTs on the Appalachian Trail, and the training camps I’ve used to prepare for this effort.
