I have a policy if keeping the names of my shooting locations quiet unless they're either painfully hard to reach or already rinsed. In this case it's the former as nobody in their right mind would embark on a journey to Sgorr Tuath. This landscape photography caper begins in Ullapool where some idiot crashes into the back of my beema. Spoiler, it's Thomas Heaton. After Tom crashes his antique Space Wagon into my plush new rental car there's only one way to settle the score. Cakes and latte's and a savage plug of my book. After that we hit the trailhead and discuss our camera gear and snack choices for the punishing hike to come. I can't be too hard on Tom because he was kind enough to lend me his spare hiking poles without which I simply couldn't handle the climb. After almost three hours of rain, hail and misery and we finally make it up to the best view in Scotland and it's even better than I'd hoped. Just as I'm in throws of my umpteenth Fotogasm Tom announces he's feeling rough and wants to head down the hill. I'm just getting warmed up and ready to shoot some more but Amanda is also sounding the alarm of the skinny people. Tom and I argue over the potential for epic light, I'm optimistic, he's doubtful but which one of us is right? Will Tom ever get out of my shot and does Amanda's camera bag only contain shortbread? There's really only one way to find out.
