After a lengthy time away from Egypt, Farid returned to Cairo for the Sham Ennessim festival in 1970, marking the beginning of spring with this performance of Al Rabeeh (Spring). Originally sung in the 1949 film "Afrita Hanem" alongside Samia Gamal, it became a yearly tradition for Farid to perform this song during the Sham Ennessim festivities. And although it is impossible to say which song is Farid's "best song," this song is often put at the top of the list. 🎧🔊 The audio for this video has been replaced by a higher quality radio recording of concert.
