Symptoms include numbness in the toes and top of the foot, pain in the lower back and buttocks, radiating pain to the leg, particularly the back of the leg, and outside of the calf. How did it happen? Usually from poor posture and bad working habit, previous sports injuries, prolong sitting leading to disc herniation, bone spurs, lumbar stenosis and arthritis. These all contribute to the nerve impingement of the L4 and L5 nerve of the lumbar spine. Once these two nerves are impinged, the associated nerve that branch out from L4 and L5 such as the Sciatic and the Femoral nerves will be affected! A cascade of pain and discomfort will affect the lower limbs. Dr. Joe demonstrated 6 effective exercises for L4 and L5 nerve impingement.
