Video Description

We return to California to meet up with interior designer and collector Matt Winter. Matt has a deep passion for vintage items, particularly cars, and incorporates this aesthetic into his designs. In this episode Matt lets us into his 1924 Spanish-style home in Beverly Hills. With a passion for preserving history, Matt shares how he brought the house back to its original glory, using reclaimed materials and vintage elements to maintain its authenticity. Known for blending old-world European aesthetics with modern design, Matt draws inspiration from his love for vintage cars and antiques, incorporating unique pieces such as a 1920s butcher’s block and a marble slab from a bakery into his home. As a third-generation Angeleno with deep roots in collecting, Matt discusses the importance of using reclaimed materials in his projects, both at home and for clients. He emphasizes his mission to preserve Los Angeles' architectural heritage, something he feels is often overlooked. His home, sitting on a rare acre of land in Beverly Hills, features four wood-burning fireplaces and outdoor alfresco dining areas built from indigenous stones, perfectly integrating the landscape with the design. Matt’s approach to design is rooted in storytelling, where every piece, whether furniture or architectural detail, is a part of a larger narrative. His dedication to historical preservation shines through in projects like the All Season Brewing Company, where he revitalized an iconic Firestone Tire building, respecting its automotive history while giving it new life. Through his design philosophy, Matt aims to inspire the next generation to value craftsmanship, sustainability, and the timeless beauty of reclaimed materials. 👉Everhouse celebrates extraordinary home design by talking to the people behind them, understanding how they help others live in more thoughtful and beautiful ways. 👉Produced by Everhouse using: Primary Camera - https://amzn.to/3M9ebhM Primary Lens - https://amzn.to/3jSUz5k Secondary Camera - https://amzn.to/3JVaz1f Camera Gimbal - https://amzn.to/3uYVtDI Phone Gimbal - https://amzn.to/3EtrczW 4K Monitor & Recorder - https://amzn.to/3KZwRjZ Drone - https://amzn.to/3rFQHZF 00:00 Making Matt's daughter happy 00:05 Introduction 00:58 Matt's Style 01:21 Layout & Art Studio 02:02 Kitchen & Collecting 02:38 Chopping Block & Marble Top 03:20 Fireplace 03:55 Jean Harlow History 04:13 The Plot and Hillside 04:55 Porsche 356 Speedster & Car Restoration 06:05 Reclaimed Materials 06:41 Architectural Preservation & Interior Design Business 07:23 Raising a Family & Conclusion 👉Submit your space for a house tour: https://www.everhouse.co/ Instagram https://www.instagram.com/everhouse.co/ Facebook https://www.facebook.com/everhouse.co/ Website https://everhouse.co #interiordesign #architecture #porsche #housetour Note: This page contains affiliate links.
