It all started two months ago when I returned to this yard once again to do some work: removing bushes from the front yard so that paving stones could be laid for parking a car, and removing a tree from the back yard. On the first day, I started clearing the overgrown corner, digging up all the bushes by the roots. Before I even got started, I broke my shovel, but luckily I had a spare in my car. The owner also asked me to transplant a tree and a couple of bushes to the backyard, which I did. Moving to the backyard, I started clearing a spot for the tree, clearing the curbs of grass and digging a hole. I brought a bag of soil I had prepared in advance and planted the tree. I also prepared the spot by cutting off the top layer of turf and dug two holes where I transplanted two shrubs. then I trimmed them a little with a trimmer to give them shape. Returning to the front yard, I continued my work. I also found several huge stones, which I rolled onto the paving stones. Later, I took them to the backyard. Sometimes I used a hoe to dig up the roots, which was much more effective than a shovel. Once all the greenery had been removed, I needed to remove a layer of soil about 20 cm deep so that I could fill it with gravel later. I moved the trailer as close as possible and dumped the excess soil there. The next day, I came back and started cutting down the tree in the backyard. After cutting the branches, I moved them to the trailer, sometimes sawing them to fit everything in the trailer. An hour later, when everything was loaded, I cut down the rest of the tree to the ground and rolled up the pre-prepared shredder to remove the small stump. At some point, the shredder got tangled up in a wire, which was the cable for the lawn mower that was standing nearby. After finishing the job, I cleaned up the area a bit with a rake and returned to the front yard to trim the hedge a little, and that was it for almost two months. Shortly before Christmas, I returned to continue the work. On the first day, I stretched a string to mark the height of the curb stone, brought the curbs and bags of cement I had bought in advance, then prepared the cement mortar and laid the curbs at the required height and left the cement mortar to dry. So I returned the next day with 0.5 m3 of crushed stone in my trailer, unloaded it, and spread it over the entire area. Then I left again and brought back 1 m3 of fine gravel on which the paving stones would be laid, and I leveled everything out again. After another day, I arrived with 10 m² of paving stones I had purchased. After unloading them next to the work site, I removed the car and trailer, stretched the string again, laid the bars, and then leveled the crushed stone. When I had done this work on the entire site, I proceeded to lay the paving stones. The work progressed quite quickly here. Near the end, where the old stones were rounded, I had to shorten several stones by about 1 cm. (it's a good thing I recently purchased a Stihl TSA 230), because the old paving stones had been slightly displaced by the weight of the car, but I was still able to lay them as needed. Then it took me another hour to trim all the stones and fill in the gaps. When everything was ready, I collected all the stone scraps and gravel remnants and took them to the backyard, then blew away the remaining stones and dust and compacted the area with a tamper. Two months ago, this work took two days, and about 1 cubic meter of soil was removed, as well as a full trailer of green trimmings. Laying the curbs and stones took about 15 hours in total (most of the time was spent traveling to get the materials).
